Ideal for artists who like the texture of canvas but prefer a firmer, more stable surface to paint on, these canvas boards by Winsor & Newton are suitable for use with oils, alkyds, acrylics and even water mixable oils. Available in a range of sizes, the boards are covered with a medium grain cotton canvas that is stretched by hand for correct tension and precisely folded corners. Triple primed with acid-free sizing and two coats of Winsor & Newton's specially formulated gesso, they provide balanced absorbency and tooth which prevents sinking of oil colours and improves adhesion.
